JOHANNESBURG – Women continue to still break down barriers in industries where men have dominated. 
In 2018, 18-percent of women and 35-percent of men worked in engineering or technical departments. 
The proportion of women fell to 16-percent in 2022. 
Bongani Mthombeni, the director of Smart Mobility at engineering company Royal HaskoningDHV, discussed this with eNCA.
